Wendy M. Cecil
Wendy M. Cecil, CM, LLD, Vic 7T1, is Chancellor Emerita of Victoria University in the University of Toronto, former Chair of the University of Toronto Governing Council and Chair of the Presidents’ Circle. An active volunteer and donor to the University of Toronto since 1983, she continues to serve as an advisor to various departments and projects at the University. She has been passionately committed to a wide variety of organizations within the education, health care and arts sectors of Toronto over the last 35 years. In 2009, the Government of Canada awarded her the Therese Casgrain Volunteer Award, Canada’s highest honour for Volunteer Service. She is a Senior Fellow of Massey College, a Fellow and Vice President of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, a Fellow of the International Strategic Studies Association and Trusted Advisor on Education and the Role of Women to the Crown Council of Ethiopia while also serving on the Boards of Branksome Hall Asia, The Canadian Canoe Museum, and as Chair of the Governors’ Council at St. Michael’s Hospital.
